Pitta Balancing Tea with Rose Petals & Mint

Ayurvedic Diet

Rose petal tea improves digestion yet remains cooling for the fiery digestive tract of most Pitta's. The astringency of rose petal directly cools digestive irritation and inflammation. Fennel gently stimulates digestion while soothing the liver, calming Pitta. Raw sugar provides a bit of nourishment and a hint of sweetness, also soothing to Pitta. Mint helps disperse heat and cool a person down by opening up the pores to encourage sweating.

Insulting the LiverThe liver, when disturbed, is emotionally reactive and sensitive. It is a proud organ and easily insulted by intensity and imperfection. Pitta often aggravates and exhausts the liver, with the result that Pitta is Ayurveda's most volatile dosha. Pleasant, soothing remedies are restorative to the liver and the basis for including rose petals and raw sugar in this tea.

aboutThe pleasant aroma of rose petal, and the touch of sweetness, soothes and pleases Pitta, making Rose Petal and Mint tea a delectable treat!

The amount of water in a lassi varies with strength of digestion. Those with weaker digestion can use non fat yogurt with a 1:3 ratio of yogurt to water. For stronger digestions 3:1 ratio of yogurt to water. Lemons are okay to mix with yogurt because it is already soured. Mixing lemons with milk, other the hand, curdles in the stomach!
A lassi is simply yogurt and water usually blended with some spices. Warm cumin mixes with sour and salt for an excellent after dinner digestive. This lassi is specific for Vata dosha. Search on yogurt for Pitta and Kapha pacifying lassis.
